Pickleball Play

Hockessin Indoor Tennis

What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America.   It is a racquet sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong.   It is played both indoors and outdoors on a badminton size court.   The same court is used for singles and doubles play.  The court is lined similar to a tennis court with a right and left service court and a no volley zone in front of the net. The equipment consists of a paddle and a perforated plastic ball similar to a wiffle ball.  Games are played to 11 winning by 2.  Rules are interesting and it takes a few games to get used to the scoring, the double bounce rule and rotation of serve. Pickleball is played by people of all ages.  You do not need any racquet sport experience.
